U.S. DOT Project Delivery Center of Excellence Offers New Resource to Help Develop Thorough Construction Contracts
EJCDC contract documents are prominently featured in this new repository, alongside those of the three sponsoring organizations and USDA-RUS preapproved agreements.
Alexandria, VA – Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC®) is honored to have its contract documents included in the U.S. Department of Transportation (U.S. DoT) John A. Volpe National Transportation Systems Center brand-new Project Delivery Center of Excellence central repository of recommended agreements for transportation-related projects.
This new resource was specifically created to help ensure consistency and quality in design and construction contracts.
As stated in a U.S. DoT press release:
Recipients of federal aid for construction projects must create thorough construction contracts to keep projects on time, on task, and on budget. These legally binding contracts, or project agreements, outline the roles, responsibilities, terms, and conditions for a project’s successful delivery. The Project Delivery Center of Excellence worked in partnership with several national associations to identify templates and model language for transportation construction contracts. This new resource provides a central repository of those templates and model language that are available for purchase and from high-quality sources.
Also featured in the Project Delivery Center of Excellence’s new document repository are EJCDC’s contract document offerings at its three sponsoring organizations (the American Council of Engineering Companies, the National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Society of Civil Engineers – Construction Institute), as well as the USDA Rural Utilities Service collection of preapproved construction documents.
Visit the Project Delivery Center of Excellence website today to learn more about this new contract repository and explore all of the selected transportation-related, off-the-shelf templates chosen by the U.S. DoT to help develop robust project agreements efficiently.
Over the last 50 years, Engineers Joint Contract Documents Committee (EJCDC®) has developed and updated fair and objective standard documents specifically written for infrastructure projects in the United States. Each EJCDC® Contract Document is systematically prepared, reviewed and analyzed by committees of experienced engineering design and construction professionals, owners, contractors, professional liability and risk management experts, with the participation and advice of legal counsel.
